DEADLINE: MAY 2, 2022 “We've established a broad Innovator in Residence Program to support innovative and creative uses of our collections that showcase how the Library relates to and enriches the work, life, and imagination of the American people. As a collaborative, community-based art center, Lillstreet offers a variety of resources and instruction. The resident artist program enriches our community by bringing artists with unique and refined skills to our educational programming through classes, workshops, public demonstrations, and studio hours. As a resident artist, you will continue to develop professionally and intellectually through contact with department peers and students. This residency includes personal workspace in a group studio, 24-hour access to facilities and equipment, free classes in any of our five departments, paid opportunities to teach and/or assist classes, opportunities to exhibit your work, and a monthly $400 stipend.” NEW ROOTS FOUNDATION LA NUEVA FÁBRICA DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2022 “La Nueva Fábrica is a contemporary art space in Antigua, Guatemala that promotes creative experimentation through exhibitions, public programs and education, residencies, and multidisciplinary workshops. Founded in 1998, the organization holds a permanent collection of historic photography and the artworks of its founder, the late Guatemalan artist Lissie Habie. For up to 10 months each year, artists in the cohort can devote resources to creating new and different artworks without the impedement of the expense of studio space in New York City. Mark Dorf will present his work in conversation with Elizabeth Ferrill, Artistic Director of Painting, Drawing and Printmaking; Chair, Artists-in-Residence Program; Chair, Critical Dialog. We invite you to join us via Zoom! Mark Dorf is a New York-based artist whose practice utilizes photography, video, digital media and sculpture. Mark is influenced by human perceptions of and interactions with what is commonly referred to in Western Culture as “Nature”, urbanism, design and virtual environments. He reveals these subjects’ entanglement and integration as an inclusive and lively planetary ecology helping to navigate away from environmental collapse and to imagine a New Nature.”
